Getting here

Airports & rental cars

Kingman's own airport has no regular airline service. Most guests fly into Las Vegas and drive about two hours.

LAS

Harry Reid International, Las Vegas

About 105 miles · 1 hr 45 min to 2 hr

The best bet for most people: the most flights, the cheapest fares, and every rental company in one consolidated rental car center (shuttle from the terminals). Drive US-93 south over the Hoover Dam bypass bridge straight into Kingman.

Route
IFP

Laughlin/Bullhead International

About 35 miles · 50 min

Closest airport with passenger service, but flights are limited and often seasonal. Check what's actually flying in spring 2027 before planning around it, and book a rental car early.

Route
PHX

Phoenix Sky Harbor International

About 190 miles · 3 hr

A good option if you're flying from somewhere Vegas doesn't serve well, or want to fold in a few days in Phoenix or Sedona. Rental Car Center reached by the free PHX Sky Train.

Route
FLG

Flagstaff Pulliam

About 150 miles · 2 hr 15 min

Small airport with connections through Phoenix and Dallas. Pairs well with a Grand Canyon detour.

Driving & rental cars

  • You need a car. There's no shuttle or rideshare you can count on up the mountain, so rent one at the airport. Kingman also has local rental counters if you're arriving another way.
  • Hualapai Mountain Resort is about 12 miles southeast of downtown Kingman on Hualapai Mountain Road, paved the whole way, climbing to well above 6,000 feet. Budget 25 minutes from town.
  • Arizona doesn't observe daylight saving time. On May 1 that puts Kingman on the same clock as Las Vegas and California.
  • Fill up and grab supplies in Kingman. The mountain has the resort's general store and not much else.
  • Elk, deer and cows cross the mountain road, especially at dawn and dusk. Drive it slowly after the reception.

Questions

Good to know

When and where is the wedding?

Saturday, May 1, 2027, at Hualapai Mountain Resort, 4525 Hualapai Mountain Rd, about 12 miles up the mountain from Kingman, Arizona. Times will be posted under The Weekend as they are set.

What should I wear?

Formal or semi-formal. The ceremony is outdoors on rocky dirt terrain, so heels are at your own discretion. Block heels, wedges, dressy boots, and flats all work better than stilettos.

Is the ceremony outside?

Yes. Expect uneven, rocky ground, strong sun in the afternoon, and a cool evening up the mountain. Bring sunglasses and a layer.

Where should I stay?

At the venue. We've blocked rooms at the resort for Friday and Saturday nights (April 30 and May 1), so you can walk to the ceremony and back to bed. See Stay for how to request one. Kingman also has plenty of hotels about 25 minutes down the mountain.

Can I bring a plus-one or my kids?

Your invitation lists who's invited. The RSVP form asks for everyone in your party. If you're unsure, ask us before you RSVP.

Can I request a song?

Please do. Use the song request form, or add one when you RSVP.

What about gifts?

Having you there is plenty. If you'd like to give something, we have a honeymoon fund (see Registry).

Can I bring my dog?

The resort welcomes pets in most rooms for an additional nightly fee. Bean will, of course, be joining us! At her age, she’s quite accustomed to crowds and remains unfazed by most of the excitement. If you'd like your dog to be at the reception message us and we'll talk about it.

That said, we anticipate a busy event with plenty of activity, people, and commotion that may be overwhelming for some dogs. While we’re happy for guests to have their pets stay with them in their rooms, the reception area may potentially present safety concerns for dogs or waitstaff in such a lively environment.

Please consider your dog’s temperament and comfort when making your plans.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us create a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable experience for all our guests—both two-legged and four-legged!

Should I drive my Subaru?

Obviously. Join the Herd.

Can I bring my own alcohol?

There will be drinks made available at the bar in the reception space. Per the venue, no outside alcohol is allowed in the reception area. Please be respectful of this and keep your outside adult beverages in your cabin until after the reception. ;)
